Radio Wall of Sound
Sunday at 8am
Repeat Friday 10am
I started DJ life in 1976 at the ripe old age of 13 doing the kids disco at the local youth club. Not long after that I got myself a set of decks and some speakers and went on the road with my first mobile disco. My first gig, the school disco, was a real baptism of fire, I soon realised that what worked at the local youth club didn't have the same affect on kids my own age and school chums take no prisoners. In 1980 I got a job on a pirate radio station WLR in Ireland where I spent a year presenting two weekend shows.
Back in blighty in late1981 I decided to ressurect my mobile disco with a complete new lightshow and up to date sound system and The Catch 22 Disco was born. Catch 22 has been going strong, apart from a short break in the early 90s ever since and is now going back to its roots as a Retro Disco and satisfying a huge demand for retro music.
In 2013 I was involved in the set up of a local internet radio station where I came up with the Radio Wall of Sound show. I presented this for a few years and built up a healthy following of people who liked my random choice of music, classic oldies, terrible jokes and different features, 'My Dads Record Box' being the favourite.
The Radio Wall of Sound has appeared on various internet radio stations and is now proud to be coming home to a truly local station with the community at heart.
